Richmond and Myrtle Beach came away with wins as a part Monday's Minor League action. Greenville was off, and Rome Braves were rained out. Read on for scores and recaps.
RICHMOND
The Richmond Braves lost to Pawtucket Monday night 4-3.
Richmond started
Andy Pratt
was knocked around for six runs and eleven hits in five innings. The Pawsox scored three in the third, two in the fourth, and a run in the fifth to run Pratt out of the game. Then Lou Collier hit a three run home run off
Derrick Lewis
in the sixth inning to put the game away.
Wilson Betemit
and
Johnny Estrada
had RBI singles for Richmond.
Ryan Rupe, a former Tampa Bay Devil Ray, won for Pawtucket pitching seven strong innings allowing two runs on five hits.
Game two of the series is Tuesday at Pawtucket.
Chris Fussell
(3-1) is scheduled to go for Richmond.
GREENVILLE
The G-Braves were off Monday. They open up a series with Tennessee on Tuesday night.
MYRTLE BEACH
Potamac beat Myrtle Beach 4-3 Monday night at Coastal Federal Field.
Potamac scored one in the second inning and two in the seventh inning off of
Zach Miner
, who was cruising until Potamac scored the two runs in the seventh inning. They added an extra run in the eighth only to see the Pelicans bounce back for two runs in the ninth inning.
T.J. Pena was 1-3 with an RBI for the Pelicans.
Aaron Herr
added three hits to raise his average up to .286.
Matt Coenen
will pitch for the Pelicans when they start a road trip on Tuesday night.
ROME
The Rome Braves were rained out on Monday. They start a six game road trip Tuesday night in Asheville.
