The new Rome Braves aim to make a splash at the Sally League All-Star game, sending six players including 2002 MLB Amateur Draft first round pick Jeff Francouer.

The 2003 South Atlantic League All Star Game will feature six members of the Rome Braves Team.

Pitchers Kyle Davies, Brad David, and Dan Meyer are all scheduled to take the mound in Lexington on June 24th.

Davies has been the ace of the Rome staff this season going 6-2 with a 2.51 ERA and has 70 strike outs in only 61 IP.

Dan Meyer, the Braves first round draft pick out of James Madison University last season, has 3-3 record with a 2.97 ERA and has struck out 72 batters while only walking 13.

The closer in Rome is Brad David. David has recorded 13 saves this season while maintaining a 2.03 ERA and 26 Ks.

Brian McCann will start the game at catcher and will be about 350 feet away from another starter in center field Jeff Francouer. Onil Joseph also made the team as a reserve outfielder and could potentially replace Francouer in center as the game gets into late innings.

McCann has put on a power display this year as the Catcher for Rome. He is hitting .281 with 8 home runs and 26 RBI.

Francouer, another of the Braves first round picks in 2002, is off to a terrific start. Jeff is hitting .293 with 8 homers, 32 RBI and has stolen 9 bases.

Joseph, the speedy lead off hitter for Rome, is hitting .293 with 4 HR and 25 RBI. The most impressing stat about Joseph is that he has stolen 22 bases this year.

It looks like the Braves will be very well represented at this years South Atlantic League All Star Game.
