Opening Day Roster Set

The 2013 MLB season opened last night and everyone is now down to their final 25 man active roster to begin the season. Cincinnati had some tough decisions to make in a crowded bullpen and they rewarded J.J. Hoover's strong spring with a spot by sending veteran Jose Arredondo to Louisville. Cesar Izturis grabbed the final infield job after coming to the Reds on a minor league contract.

Cincinnati did not expect to have many surprises on their opening day roster this season. The most likely place for one was in the bullpen which became more overcrowded after the announcement to abort plans to convert Aroldis Chapman into the rotation.
