The Richmond Braves are at Louisville tonight with Kyle Davies on the mound. Richmond is 47-82 on the season, 26.5 games out of first place in the International League's South Division.
The Braves have won two games in a row. They'll get a little help tonight as Brayan Pena is back on their roster.
The Braves host West Tennessee tonight at Trustmark Park with righty Brian O'Connor on the mound. Mississippi is 25-30 in the second half of the season, 11 games back of Birmingham in the Southern League's South Division.
Right-hander Seth Bobbitt was promoted to Mississippi today. He was 3-0 in nine games with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, along with a 4.58 ERA.
Mississippi also added Jeremy Ward to its bullpen over the weekend. Ward started the year in AA and had a 2.63 ERA in 12 games. He then went to AAA Richmond and went 3-4 with a 3.74 ERA in 31 games.
The Pelicans are off tonight. They start a nine-game road trip Tuesday night at Wilmington.
Myrtle Beach is 22-32 in the second half of the season, 6.5 games back of first place Salem in the Carolina League's Southern Division. The Pelicans have lost four in a row.
Third baseman Ben Thomas will miss the remainder of the season with a hernia. The Pelicans have gotten back catcher Steve Pyzik, who had been in AAA Richmond filling in for Brayan Pena.
And Nate Pudewell has been promoted to the Pelicans from Extended Spring Training. Pudewell had a little tendonitis in his throwing shoulder, but the Braves are going to test him in the Carolina League for the remainder of the season.
The Rome Braves send Charlie Morton to the mound against the Savannah Sand Gnats tonight at State Mutual Stadium. Rome has lost two in a row and is now 27-28 on the season, 5.5 games back of Kannapolis in the Sally League's Southern Division.
Luis Atilano twisted his knee in Sunday's game and had to come out in the second inning. The Braves do not expect him to miss any time.
The Danville Braves continue their assault of the Appy League tonight in Kingsport. Asher Demme is on the mound for the Braves, who are 40-18 and 8.5 games up on Princeton in the East Division. Danville has won three in a row.
