Bill Shanks takes a look at Sunday's schedule in the Braves farm system.
RICHMOND
The Richmond Braves send
Adam Bernero
to the mound late Sunday afternoon in Durham. Bernero is 4-4 with an ERA of 3.00 in his eight games back in AAA.
Richmond is 51-84 on the season, 23 games back of Norfolk in the International League's South Division.
MISSISSIPPI
Mississippi tries to snap a two-game losing streak Sunday night at 6:05 when they once again take on the Biscuits in Montgomery.
Paul Bush
, who has been solid all season in a variety of roles for both Myrtle Beach and Mississippi, will go for his third win of the season.
The Braves are 28-33 on the season, ten games back of Birmingham in the Southern League's South Division.
MYRTLE BEACH
After a rainout Saturday night, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans now have to play two doubleheaders in a row - today and Monday - two days after starting the series in Frederick with a double dip.
The Pelicans will send
Chris Waters
(4-4, 4.43) and
Matt Lorenzo
(1-3, 3.55) to the mound Sunday. Myrtle Beach is 25-34 on the season, seven games back of Winston-Salem in the Southern Division of the Carolina League.
ROME
The Rome Braves play their last game of the season at State Mutual Stadium this afternoon at 2:00 against Augusta.
With
Chris Vines
,
Luis Atilano
, and Jonny Venters out for the rest of the season, Manager Rocket Wheeler's selections for starting pitchers is limited. We believe he'll send
James Parr
(13-3, 3.30) to the mound on Sunday against the GreenJackets.
Rome has won 11 of its last 16 games and is now 31-29 on the season, but still six games back of Kannapolis in the Sally League's Southern Division.
Reliever
Will Startup
continued his solid work on Saturday night. The former UGA Bulldog has not allowed a run in his last 17.1 innings pitched.
DANVILLE
Danville continues to prep for the playoffs with a game tonight against Bluefield starting at 7:00 pm at Dan Daniel Park.
Todd Blackford (4-3, 3.54) and Eduardo Rosario (1-1, 3.91) should get some innings today for Danville, who after winning four in a row is 45-19 on the season, ten games up on Princeton in the Appy League's East Division.
