Today marks the end of the first half of the regular season for the Braves' minor league affiliates. Three of the four teams are in action. The Braves Show's Bill Shanks previews Sunday's action around the farm.
RICHMOND
The Richmond Braves host Pawtucket this afternoon at 2:00 pm at the Diamond.
Chuck James
will make his sixth start for Richmond. He's 1-0 so far with a 2.36 ERA. The Braves have lost nine in a row and are 26-43 on the season, 22.5 games back of Charlotte in the International League's South Division.
MISSISSIPPI
Mississippi ended its first half of the season Saturday night at Trustmark Park with another solid outing by
Matt Wright
. The Braves were 31-38 in the first half, 16.5 games back of Jacksonville. They'll start the second half of the season Monday at West Tennessee.
MYRTLE BEACH
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans host first-place Kinston this afternoon at 2:02 at Coastal Federal Field.
Steve Russell
makes his second start of the season for the Pelicans. He's 2-0 on the season with an ERA of 3.00. Myrtle Beach is trying to finish the first half at .500. They are 34-35 on the season, 13 games back of the Indians in the Carolina League's Southern Division.
ROME
The Sally League's Southern Division champions end their spectacular first half Sunday afternoon at State Mutual Stadium against Columbus.
Jairo Cuevas
(3-5, 4.93) will pitch for the Braves, who are 42-27 on the season.
