Bill Shanks previews today's action in the Braves' minor league system.
RICHMOND
Richmond starts a two-game series against Durham tonight at the Diamond. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
Jonathan Johnson
(1-0, 3.57) will go for the Braves against Bulls' starter
Mitch Talbot
(1-3, 6.48).
The Braves are 18-6 on the season, 7.5 games up on Charlotte in the International League's South Division.
MISSISSIPPI
Mississippi continues its series in Montgomery starting at 8:05 pm ET tonight.
Dan Smith
(3-1, 1.95) will start for the Braves against
Mike Prochaska
(0-3, 6.46).
The Braves are 20-8 on the season, five games up on Birmingham in the Southern League's South Division.
MYRTLE BEACH
Myrtle Beach is in Lynchburg tonight starting at 6:05 pm ET.
Dustin Evans
(1-0, 3.65) will go for Rocket Wheeler's Pelicans against Hillcats' starter
Clayton Hamilton
(0-2, 7.31).
The Pelicans have lost two in a row and are now 12-15 and in last place in the Carolina League's Southern Division, 4.5 games back of Kinston.
ROME
Rome is in Savannah tonight to play the Sand Gnats at Grayson Stadium.
Jamie Richmond
(0-2, 4.64) is scheduled to go for the visitors.
The Braves can thank the hapless Sand Gnats. Savannah is in last place and a game and a half back of Rome, who has an 8-21 record and is 15 games back of Augusta in the Southern Division of the South Atlantic League.
