Lefty Damian Moss (1-1, 3.55 ERA) gets the start for the Braves tonight at 7:00 as they once again host Norfolk. Lefty Garrett Olsen, who made seven starts in Baltimore last season, will go for the Tides. He’s also 1-1 on the season, but with a 1.61 ERA. Richmond is 13-7 on the season after winning two in a row and is now two and a half games up on Charlotte.
The Braves take on the BayBears in Mobile tonight at 8:05. Todd Redmond (1-0, 2.66), who has done very well this season after coming over from the Pirates last month in the Tyler Yates trade, will pitch for the Braves against Mobile right-hander Hector Ambriz (1-2, 4.84). Mississippi is 5-17 on the season, six games back in the Southern League’s South Division.
It’s the final game of a three-game set tonight at BB&T Coastal Field as the Pelicans host the Salem Avalanche. Kyle Cofield (0-3, 5.50) is in need of a good start and will pitch for Myrtle Beach, while Casey Hudspeth (1-1, 5.68) goes for the Avalanche. The Pelicans’ lead in the Carolina League’s Southern Division is now only a half a game over Winston-Salem. Myrtle Beach is 12-10 on the season.
The Braves continue the series in Savannah tonight at 7:00 at Grayson Stadium. Scott Diamond goes for the Braves. He’s 1-0 in four starts with a 3.32 ERA. Rome is 9-13 on the season, nine games out of first place in the Sally League’s Southern Division.
