Here's today's preview of the action around the Braves' minor league system.

RICHMOND

The Braves head into May in first place in the International League’s South Division with a 14-11 record, a game and a half up on Charlotte. They’ll try to snap a two-game losing streak tonight at the Diamond when the Louisville Bats come in for the first of a four-game series. Richmond is 14-11 this season.

MISSISSIPPI

The Braves and Chattanooga Lookouts play game two of a five-game set tonight at 8:05 at Trustmark Park. James Parr will look for his first win of the season and go for the Braves against right-hander Ramon Ramirez. The Braves are 6-20 on the season, eight games back of Birmingham in the Southern League’s South Division.

MYRTLE BEACH

It’s a pretty big match-up for the Pelicans tonight as they start a four-game set in Salem against the second place Avalanche. Myrtle Beach (15-11) leads Salem by two and a half games in the Carolina League’s Southern Division. Deunte Heath will pitch for the Pelicans, while Myrtle Beach will face its fourth straight lefty with Polin Trinidad on the hill for the Avalanche. These two faced each other last weekend in Myrtle Beach. The Pelicans have won five consecutive series to end the month of April in first place.

ROME

Jeff Locke is scheduled to pitch for the Braves tonight in game three of a four-game set against Greenville. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 at State Mutual Stadium. Rome has lost three in a row and is now 10-16 on the season, ten games back of Charleston in the Sally League’s Southern Division.
