Here's a look at the Braves roster notes going into the weekend.
ROSTER REPORT
--SS
Yunel Escobar
was back in the lineup Thursday after missing five consecutive starts with a strained right hip flexor. He hit a double and made crisp plays in the field.
--CF
Nate McLouth
(strained left hamstring) missed his fifth consecutive game Thursday.
--RHP
Tim Hudson
threw a 90-pitch bullpen session Thursday in preparation for the next step in his rehab from last August's Tommy John surgery. He will throw batting practice before the Braves-Cubs games Monday and Tuesday at Wrigley Field. He is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment July 19 at Class A Myrtle Beach.
MEDICAL WATCH:
CF Nate McLouth (strained left hamstring) left the June 26 game and did not play June 27-July 2. He is day-to-day.
SS Yunel Escobar (sore right hip flexor) did not play June 26-29. He appeared as a pinch hitter June 30 and July 1, and he returned to the lineup July 2.
RHP
Kenshin Kawakami
(bruised neck) left the June 24 game after getting struck by a line drive. His next start was pushed back to July 3.
RHP
Jeff Bennett
(broken left hand) went on the 15-day disabled list June 25.
INF
Greg Norton
(strained right ankle) went on the 15-day disabled list June 11. He began a rehab assignment with Class AAA Gwinnett on June 21.
RHP
Jorge Campillo
(right shoulder tendinitis) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 29, and he was transferred to the 60-day DL in June.
RHP
Buddy Carlyle
(upper back strain) went on the 15-day disabled list May 26.
LHP Jo-Jo Reyes (left hamstring strain) went on the 15-day disabled list May 21. He began a rehab assignment with Class AAA Gwinnett on June 9, but he left without retiring a batter after aggravating his hamstring.
INF
Omar Infante
(fractured bone in left hand) went on the 15-day disabled list May 21.
RHP Tim Hudson (Tommy John surgery on right elbow in August 2008) went on the 60-day disabled list March 4. He will begin a rehab assignment with Class A Myrtle Beach on July 19.
