The Braves have designated outfielder Ryan Church for assignment to make room for Rafael Soriano on the 40-man roster.
Church was acquired from the Mets on July 10 for Jeff Francoeur. He played in 44 games for the Braves and hit .260 with 2 home runs and 18 RBI in 127 at bats.
Church also had a variety of injuries in his time in Atlanta. The Braves were expected to non-tender Church this weekend.
