O'Flaherty placed on DL; Dunn recalled
The Braves have placed left-handed reliever Eric O'Flaherty on the disabled list with a viral infection. Left-hander Mike Dunn will be promoted from Gwinnett and join the Braves tonight in time for the game against the Brewers.
O'Flaherty has a 2.30 ERA in 41 games this season. He's allowed 25 hits in 31.1 innings pitched, with 13 walks and 27 strikeouts.
Dunn, who was acquired in the Javier Vazquez trade from the Yankees last December, pitched for the International League in the Triple-A All-Star Game last night. Dunn allowed one hit but struck out the side.
For Gwinnett Dunn has been outstanding, posting a 1.05 ERA in 33 games. He's got seven saves, allowed 26 hits in 42.2 innings, with 22 walks and 56 strikeouts.
Dunn was called up to the big league club for one game, on April 15 in San Diego. But he was sent back down to Gwinnett the next day when the Braves promoted Jonny Venters.
The Braves have promoted left-hander Lee Hyde from Mississippi to Gwinnett. Hyde had eight saves in Double-A and a 2.95 ERA, with 35 strikeouts in 39.2 innings pitched.
Also, catcher Braeden Schlehuber has been sent to Myrtle Beach, while Rome receives catcher Jace Whitmer from Danville. And pitcher Andrew Wilson was placed on the temporary inactive list.
