| Biography: |
| The Braves drafted Beau Matthew Jones in the supplemental first round of the 2005 draft out of Destrehan High School in Louisiana. They considered him the best prep left-handed starter in the entire country and compared him to a young Andy Pettitte. Jones pitched in eight games (seven starts) for the Gulf Coast League Braves last season and had a record of 3-2 with an ERA of 3.86. He allowed 25 hits in 35 innings, with only 16 walks, and 41 strikeouts. Jones is in Rome's starting rotation in 2006, and the Braves believe he will be one of the better pitchers in the South Atlantic League this season. |
