| Biography: |
| Jairo Cuevas was a third baseman when the Braves signed him in March of 2003 out of the Dominican. They saw a pitcher in him and he immediately moved to the mound. It was a good decision, as Cuevas has developed into a very solid prospect. He was the Pitcher of the Year in the Appalachian League in 2005 after going 6-1 with an ERA of 1.95. Cuevas has a solid fastball that sits in the mid-90s range. He just turned 22 years old in January, and when you think his arm doesn't have many years as a pitcher, the Braves have a very interesting long-term project on their hands with solid natural talent. |
