Biography:
Eric Campbell was the Braves' first pick in the 2004 draft, taken in the second round out of Gibson Southern High School in Indiana. He was a shortstop in high school, but the Braves believed he could develop into another Matt Williams-type player. Williams also came up as a shortstop, but was moved to third base. Campbell has great power, and he's tinkered with his stance a bit to where he now looks like a right-handed Adam LaRoche. Defensively, Campbell has made great strides and continues to develop. Campbell will be at Rome in 2006.
