| Biography: |
| Brandon Monk was the Braves' seventh round pick in the 2005 draft out of LaGrange High School in Georgia. He is yet another Georgia kid pinpointed by the Braves as one of their type players. Following in the footsteps of Glenn Hubbard, Mark Lemke, and Marcus Giles, Monk is a small second baseman who plays harder than anyone on his team. He's a gritty player - the kid scouts fall in love with. Monk makes good contact, but he's never going to generate much power. Defensively, he's very solid. Monk will spend the season as Rome's starting second baseman. |
