Biography:
Cody Johnson was drafted by the Braves in the first round of the 2006 draft out of Crawford Mosley High School in Lynn Haven, Florida. He was rated as one of the top power hitters in the high school ranks after a great summer performance in 2005. After Johnson joined the GCL Braves, he got off to a good start, hitting .307 in his first eight games. Then he hurt his groin and miss almost three weeks. The injury lingered a bit, and Johnson hit only .148 the rest of the way. He'll go to spring training with an outside shot at making the jump to the South Atlantic League, but more than likely Johnson will spend the 2007 season in Danville in the Appalachian League.
