| Cofield was drafted in the 8th round of the 2005 draft out of Gadsden, Alabama. He struggled in his first two seasons of pro ball with ERA of 7.31 in 2005 and 6.21 in 2006. But in 2007 at full-season Rome Cofield started to figure a few things out. He had a 3.86 ERA, with 96 hits allowed in 112 innings pitched. Opponants hit only .236 against Cofield in 2007. He did walk too many (56 in 112 innings), and that will be his main goal for improvement when he moves up to Myrtle Beach in 2008. |
