2008 Season
McClellan came virtually out of nowhere to break spring training with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2008. The Cardinals 2008 Rookie of the Year Award winner, posted a record of 2-7 with a 4.04 ERA in 68 games.
His 68 appearances were 3rd-most ever by a Cardinals rookie reliever (M. Perez 77 in 1992 and T.Worrell 74 in 1986).
2007 Season
Added to the 40-Man Roster in November, McClellan split playing time between Palm Beach and Springfield finishing the season with a combined won-loss record of 6-1 with a 1.81 ERA. He held opposing batters to a .212 batting average and gave up only two home runs in 59 innings pitched over 40 games.

Kyle made the Cardinals 2008 opening day roster and will be making his Major League debut in his first appearance on the mound.
He had a 1.38 ERA in his 13.0 IP this spring. Allowed single runs in two separate outings while fanning 12 and walking just two.
After being drafted in the 25th round, McClellan debuted with the Rookie-level Johnson City Cardinals in 2002. In 2004, he spent about one month on the disabled list with a right forearm injury. He spent the 2005 season with low Class A Quad Cities. He tore a ligament in his elbow in a spot start on July 1 and had Tommy John surgery performed by Cardinals’ team doctor George Paletta on July 22. He was moved to the bullpen in early May after he struggled in the rotation. McClellan has a 5.27 ERA in 63 games since being drafted.
Kyle is a native St. Louisan graduated from Hazelwood West (Mo.) High School in 2002.
