Q&A with Braves 12th Round Pick Connor Lien

Lien grew up a Braves fan

The Braves selected outfielder Connor Lien in the 12th round out of Olympia High School in Florida. He sat down with us for a Q&A session to talk about being drafted by the Braves, who he would compare his game to at the big league level, and more.

AtlantaDugout.com: Tell us what it feels like to be selected by the Braves?

Connor Lien: It feels awesome. It's a great honor and I can't wait to start my career with one of the best organizations in Baseball.

AtlantaDugout.com: Talk about your game a little bit. What type of player are you and how do you see yourself fitting in with the Braves organization?

Lien - I'm an outfielder. I throw right-handed, bat right-handed and I can run pretty well. I have room to get better in all areas of my game.

AtlantaDugout.com: What are your strengths and your weaknesses?

Lien: I'm good in the outfield and I'm a pretty good hitter, but I feel like I can get better everywhere.

AtlantaDugout.com: How about your defensive game?

Lien: I'm a centerfielder so I feel like I can go get balls in the gaps, throw them and get guys out.

AtlantaDugout.com: Who would you compare your game to at the Major League level so the Braves' fans have an idea of what your game is like?

Lien: Well I wear number 48 because Torii Hunter has been my favorite player my whole life. I feel like Torii Hunter is a young Andruw Jones.

AtlantaDugout.com: Were you expecting to be drafted by the Braves or were you surprised when they selected you?

Lien: We've talked before, but there were other teams. I lived in Atlanta for a few years and I grew up awesome and I couldn't imagine being selected by any other team really.

AtlantaDugout.com: Do you see yourself staying at the same position or do you think you'll be moved to another position?

Lien: I can play centerfield but if I'm move to the right or left that wouldn't be too surprising, but I think I'll stay in center. I probably won't be playing infield.

AtlantaDugout.com: What would you say is your best moment in baseball and why?

Lien: The best moment is getting drafted by the Braves.

AtlantaDugout.com: Who was your favorite team and player growing up?

Lien: The Atlanta Braves and my favorite player is Torii Hunter.
